Jeans for Genes - Limited edition shirt.

Hey everyone! Today I am going to do a slightly different review than usual about the Jeans for Genes charity. Next Friday (the 19th of September) is Jeans for Genes day which is to help raise money for genetic disorders and to help improve children's lives who suffer from such a disease.

Genetic disorders are caused by an alteration in DNA and it affects around 30,000 babies each year in the UK. DNA is a molecule that is found in all cells and contains all the biological instructions for every function in the body, from what colour your eyes are to producing new vital cells in the body.

DNA is practically the same in all humans but unfortunately one slight alteration of the DNA can cause devastating effects such as Cystic Fibrosis and Huntington's disease which can make living a struggle, and is the biggest cause of death for children aged under 14.

Jeans for Genes aims to raise money to help care for the children affected by these disorders and offer support for them and their families. So this year to help raise funds they have released a limited edition T-shirt.

Personally I love this T-shirt and being a student studying DNA I just had to get it! I think it has a great design that really represent the charity, it features two light blue birds (swallows I think) holding a lightly pink coloured double helix with the Jeans for Genes logo on it. The design is so simple but it really stands out and looks very unique, also this shirt is made from 100% cotton and it is really comfortable to wear.

This T-Shirts costs £20 and comes in sizes 8 - 22. All the profits made from this shirt will go to charity so I think it's a great purchase as not only does it look good but you will also be helping out the thousands of people that are affected by genetic disorders. You can purchase it here:

There are also other items in their store to help raise money including a different designed white t-shirt and a joke book which you can find here:

If you want more information about genetic disorders or the charity you can find it here:

So don't forget Jeans for Genes day is on the 19th of September!
