Models Own - Pinky Brown.

This Models Own nail varnish in Pinky Brown is from their Beetle juice collection.
This collection was released back in 2011 so it is quite an old nail varnish, but it's one that I go back to again and again as I love the colour and have not really seen it anywhere else.

As the name suggests this nail varnish has a two-tone dark pink/brown colour and has a glass fleck effect.
What I love about this varnish is that it really does give a noticeable change in colour when it enters the light, going from a darker brown to pink with a dark orange tint.

When using this nail varnish I find it needs at least two coats (The above photos are done with two) as with only one coat it is quite translucent.
This product has a good wear time and usually lasts me at least 4 days.

This bottle cost £5, the same as most of models owns nail varnishes and you can buy it here: http://www.modelsownit.com/products/nails/beetlejuice-collection.html

Do you have any of the Modles Own Beetle Juice collection? What one is your favorite?

June Birchbox review.

Birchbox delivery day for me, is one of the most exciting days of the month! It's like getting a little present each month full of loads of exciting beauty brands and products, and this months box was great!
I received:
  • Embryolisse skin moisturiser
  • A beauty blender
  • Naobay body radiance lotion
  • Yves Rocher sheer lipstick in Marron Glace
  • O.P.I Nail varnish 'Where Did Suzi's Man-Go'
  • A Brazil keyring

L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary oil.

I am a big fan of hair oils and a few weeks ago I picked up this one from L'Oreal whilst doing my shopping superdrug.

I apply this oil to damp hair before blow drying and it makes my hair really soft and less frizzy. It has a really subtle smell , which I find disappears quickly after blow drying, so if you purchase this product and don't initially like the smell it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

What I really do love about this product though is that it contains a UV filter, which is important to keep hair healthy and strong. So this is perfect for the upcoming summer days and for trips abroad.

To use I apply two pumps into the palm of my hand, rub my hands together and then through my hair. I then brush my hair to ensure the hair oil is distributed evenly.

The price for this product is £9.99 which I think is a good price as it's going to last a while.

Are there any hair oils you like to use?

The Body Shop - Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter

Cleansing in the morning and evening is one of the most important things you can do for your skin so I thought I'd review one of my favorite cleansers from The Body Shop.

Since the age of 12 I have suffered from acne and it is horrible, so it is very hard for me to find a nice cleansing product which doesn't cause my skin to breakout, but this is perfect!

It has a wonderful subtle smell and a lovely soft texture.
I use it every other day as I do have another acne specific cleanser, but this is perfect for making my skin feel really soft and refreshed after using.

When using this product I apply it to a dry face and then give myself a mini face massage which I learnt from reading the Birchbox online magazine:

I then use a warm muslin cloth to wipe it off.

I would defiantly recommend this  product to anyone, as it does leave my skin feeling really clean and soft and also doesn't cause my skin to freak out.  Also you don't need to use a lot of the cleansing butter to get a good coverage all over your face and neck, so for £12 I think it's a good price as it would definitely last a while.

Welcome!

So I have finally decided to set up a blog after months of thinking about it.
I'm a 21 year old student studying Biomedical Science at Kingston university and now I have finished my exams I think I will finally have the time to dedicate to this blog.

My beauty collection had been growing larger and larger this last year, and I though it would be a great idea to post reviews on what I use.
All photos used and reviews written will be mine unless stated otherwise.

Feel free to leave comments and blog URL's as I would love to check them out.

I hope you enjoy!

Vikki.
